If you've ever been there, you will know that any description that I give you will never do it justice, but I'll try.
When you make your way through the moutain, it seems as if time has taken a step backwards.The first thing you do is find a place to park.Any parking lot will work considering that you will do a considerable amount of walking and will end up at your starting point.

If you have some time to spend in the area a ride on the Pike's Peak trail way is a great way to view parts of the mountain that you would otherwise not be able to see by driving.
Of course there are probably alot of things you can find to do on the internet,take it from me and just walk around.By walking around the streets of Manitou Springs, you will see things that you've only heard of or seen in old movies.
From far away you can smell cotton candy from the nostalgic candy store known as Goldminer's Nuts & Candy.When you walk in here you will see that they have just about every candy you can think of including candies that you have not see since you were a kid and even when your paren
There are alot of stores owned by the local Navajo and Cherokee tribes that sells handmade crafts and blankets.
This little town seems to draw in artsy people.I remember coming out of one of the stores to find a novelist writing in a leather journal on the steps.I remember seeing about three painters working on their art.If you really want to see something artsy and very cool, visit the Glassblowers of Manitou. You can see them make different things from blowing air into hot glass.
All of the old timey stores are very cool but the place I loved the most was the Penny arcade.Wh
Manitou Springs has stores that I bet most people have never seen such as a popcorn store, a hulu hoop store and a yo-yo store.
Last but not least and the reason for it's name, there are natural springs all over the sidewalks. The come out not stop of little water fountain like posts.The water taste like carbonated water but it does not stop people from stopping to take a drink or fill a cup with it.
